The Saratoga Foothill Clubhouse is a unique historic venue with a warm vintage vibe. Located at 20399 Park Place in the charming Northern California village of Saratoga, this Julia Morgan-designed building first opened its doors in 1915. It was the first building in Saratoga to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Located just behind Saratoga Federated Church, whose original chapel was also designed by architect Julia Morgan, our lovely building and grounds are located within an exquisite historic residential area surrounded by magnificent, mature California Live Oak trees.
There is a beautiful peek view of the scenic Santa Cruz Mountains just outside the Foothill Clubhouse. The exterior gardens are beautifully landscaped and feature a wisteria-topped pergola plus a paved patio, bench walls, access ramps and lovely plantings. The clubhouse interior features an open beam, high ceiling redwood assembly hall, modernized catering kitchen and bathrooms, bride’s changing room, and raised stage with piano.
With its interior exposed redwood beams, vintage hardwood floors, iconic Julia Morgan-designed paned rose window, and abundance of natural light streaming through historic wavy glass window panes, the clubhouse interior offers an open and flexible layout that accommodates all types of events. The space can be arranged theatre-style seating for events such as corporate retreats, lectures, and concerts, or table seating for weddings, memorials, and dinner parties. The venue is well-suited to Silicon Valley corporate events. The building offers comfort amenities for your guests such as air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and convenient parking just across the street. Downtown Saratoga is an easy walk to highly rated restaurants, wine tasting, and lodging.
The building’s exterior was recently completely re-sided using a combination of oil-salvaged and new eco-salvaged, old-growth, hand-split barn shakes. Further restoration work was accomplished on the front entry pilasters and doors and in 2024. Every single detail of the exterior restoration project was overseen by Foothill Club volunteer members. The results are absolutely stunning, giving the historic structure a lighter and brighter appearance.
The clubhouse has a flexible layout. The entry foyer opens to a large gathering space on the right. There is a raised stage at the end of the main room. A smaller area on the left located next to the catering kitchen can be closed off with glass paned folding doors. This space also features a long antique wood dining table that works beautifully for food service or smaller group gatherings.
